The "Devil's Teeth"
Located 30 miles west of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Farallons are a group of small islands that are a National Wildlife Refuge. Home and breeding ground to 20 species of sea and shorebirds, and 5 species of pinnipeds (seals). Great White Sharks migrate each fall to hunt the seal population. Returning each year the males average 13 to 15 feet. Females return every other year and are larger, averaging 17 feet or more.
