Route US 90, much like the more famous US 66, is historic in its contribution to the westward movement of Americans durning the 50's and 60's.
At this once glamorous motel in Marfa Texas, all that remains is its still eye-catching Stardust sigh along the roadway. The motor hotel aka. Motel was a creation of the time when the mobility and travel became more available to families with the aid of affordable automobiles, and the growing highway system.
A trip along this and the remaining section of historic US 66 in New Mexico and Arizona is a trip back in time to when the west, and particularly California, promised new opportunities for so many.
