Hold Fast by Von Trapp Photography 2015.

(From the series: Dorothy goes to sea, homage to the WWII pinup.)

Dorothy reminds you to always maintain a good hold. Because when she is pitching and rolling hard, you don't want to have to stop what you're doing.
This pinup-styled glamour photograph was taken aboard the USS Alabama Battleship and is inspired by the look of a 1940s Pin-Up image. Dorothy is wearing lovely bi-colored Cuban heel stockings with a six-strap garter belt and bullet bra.
This capture was taken at a hatchway near the Admiral's cabin on the main deck. Behind Dorothy can be seen the turret of one of the ten twin 5-inch guns.

I lit Dorothy with two-speed lights on half power and used the morning sun to rim-light her hair and body. (Note: Using two speed lights on half power allowed for the output of a full power strobe, but with a quicker recycle time. The power level allowed me to use a f/22 for greater depth of field, which was balanced with the shutter speed for the sunlight.
